Senator McCain is back to Capital Hill trying to broker a deal for a financial plan. Senator Obama is on the campaign trail. Speechless! Obama has repeatedly claimed the current financial crisis is the worst since the Great Depression and that McCain doesn't "get it". Ok, if this is the most dire financial crisis since Great Depression, then what is Obama doing on his campaign trail now. Exactly how he is solving the crisis?
Now, either this crisis is not significant at all and Obama is simply trying to scare the daylight out of voters (scare tactics, anyone?) or this crisis is truly dire but Obama does not give a dime because his campaign is more important (great priority, man). So what is it, Senator Obama? You like to scare voters or you have no priority?

This is what I just emailed to Senator McCain's DC office (had to email as his voice mail box was full). I prefaced my comment by explaining that I'd enthusiastically supported him and volunteered on his campaign locally and by blogging nationally and it is with deep regret that I find in good conscience I can no longer support him, or anyone, who supports and votes for this bailout plan in any way, shape or form.
You have lost my vote if you cast your vote for this bailout legislation.
This bailout plan under consideration by Congress is a rash and ill thought out response being deliberated in an atmosphere of panic. A panic mode driven by the desire of both parties to score points with voters in this election and by the current administration's effort to save face. Decisions made in a panic are seldom wise decisions and usually have negative, even disastrous, unintended consequences.
This bailout plan will be the Enron rescue on a massive scale and will be equally ineffective and promote further financially irresponsible behavior by all sectors of American business and society. It is a dangerous step toward the nationalization of the financial industry, an industry on which all sectors of our economy depend.
Both Democrats and Republicans who vote for this bailout should be held accountable at the ballot box by the voters. The American people do not have a vote in Congress, but they do have a vote in November and can make their voices heard by not voting for any candidate who supported this bailout legislation.
